The central corridor of the Convention Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was crowded with people at noon today, August 13, 2022. About 5 thousand people gathered to hear what Vitalik Buterin, the co-creator of Ethereum, would have to say at the opening talk of the last day of the ETHLatam. Without a doubt, it was the most attended presentation of the entire event.
As reported by Criptonews, Buterin, “present” virtually, was interviewed by entrepreneur Evan Van Ness and talked about the future of Ethereum, inflation in Argentina and the Tornado Cash case, among other topics.
“I am amazed at the number of people who came. I didn’t think I would meet so many people in the community,” says Darío, who traveled from Uruguay especially for ETHLatam.
In addition to listening to Vitalik’s speech, the attendees were able to get to know, from the hand of other speakers, the projections about the future of metaverses, what is expected for the non-fungible token (NFT) industry and how play-to-earn games are progressing.
For Erick, another of the attendees, “everything was super cool.” He says it was “very enriching to be able to talk to all the attendees about what each one does.”
Many new friendships were forged during these three days of conferences. In addition to the main event, there were several side-events organized by several companies and entities.
Undoubtedly, from this ETHLatam 2022 many have left inspired and with ideas to develop new ventures. Perhaps that is the case of Daniel, a Colombian resident in the United States, who traveled to Argentina especially to participate in this conference. He wanted to know first-hand how the ecosystem grows in Argentina. His goal is to inform about the world of cryptocurrencies in Colombia and to be able to do it non-profit.
Not a single complaint was heard about the event, the contents or the organization. From the cleanliness of the place, to the tables with food and drink always available for attendees, there were only compliments for those responsible for the ETHLatam 2022.
In the coming months, the Ethereum agenda will travel to other Latin American countries and will have its great closure at the Devcon, which will be held in Colombia in October.
